Ktown213:
Hello Kristine, give our viewers your 30-second
intro! Kristine Sa: Hello! My name is Kristine
Sa, I live in Toronto, Canada and I work in New York
City. I'm a singer and a songwriter, and I'm honored to
be talking with Ktown213!
Kt213:
You have a beautiful voice, when did you discover your
talent and when did you start thinking about
approaching music as a profession? KS: I grew up listening to my mom sing in
the kitchen while she cooked, and listening to my
sister singing in the shower every night. So I've
always had music all around me. About 6 years
ago, my friend had found Nemesis Records and contacted
them on my behalf. Before that I actually wasn't
planning to work in the music industry, as I was more
interested in acting. I used to love being in musicals
in high school. But once I started working
professionally on my music, I've been feeling at home
and I've been doing it ever since.
Kt213:
You also write your own songs, how important is
that to you? KS: My song writing is very important to
me, even outside the professional world. I write songs
on a regular basis, just for myself sometimes. It's my
way of expressing what I can't say in words sometimes.
I write a lot of songs and it stays with me, like
private diary entries.
Kt213: Have your friends & family been
supportive of your dreams & goals? KS: Oh yes! I am so very blessed. The
people who love me not only support my goals but they
often pitch in and help. For instance, my keyboard, my
guitar, and many other musical instruments that I use
were gifts. I am very lucky.
Kt213: Any road blocks or tough times
you'd like to share with us? KS: Oh boy...I believe that one of the
hardest things I've had to deal with lately has been
personal sacrifices. Sometimes I have to choose my work
over friends and family. In fact, I live at home but I
barely ever see my family because I'm always in my
office. You know, I'm in my early twenties and
sometimes I get sad that I have to miss out on normal
things, like partying on the weekends with my friends.
It gets lonely sometimes. I get homesick when I am away
from home for too long.
Kt213: Where can we see more of you? Will
you ever perform in LA? KS: Currently I've been in the studio a
lot, working on side projects and recording the final
songs to my next album. I believe that you'll see more
of me once I am finished with my studio work. Let's aim
for 2006.
Kt213: You're also into acting and writing
poetry, tell us a bit about that. KS: Well, I've always written poetry as a
way to release wound up emotions, in the same way that
I like to write songs. I suspect I'll be doing that
forever. One day, I'd like to compile my favorite poems
and possibly release a book. Hopefully! We'll
see, huh? As for acting, now that I finished my
training at NYU's acting conservatory, I intend on
taking more time to pursue it.
Kt213: H ave you ever been to K-Town, LA? KS: Sadly, no. Will someone take me?
Kt213: I'm sure we can find a bunch of
guys to take you. Your turn-on's and turn-off's? KS: Turn on's...confidence, charm,
intelligence, and a guy with a sense of humor. I like
it when someone is clearly comfortable with themselves.
My turn-off's are arrogance, selfishness, and
greediness. Also, there's nothing worse than a guy who
thinks he's God's gift to women, ha ha.
Kt213: Thank you so much for your time
Kristine, we wish you the best of luck! KS: Thank you! It was my pleasure!
Remember to take me to K-town in LA, please!
